* provision of note takers and communicators
* recommendations on learning aids and enabling technology
* information on disability benefits
* links with outside agencies concerned with disability issues
* advice on disability access
* disability awareness training
* pastoral care

The Disability Advisers, Anna Donough and Carrie Thomas, can be contacted at Student Services, Francis Close Hall (ground floor). Please telephone Anna on (01242) 543416 or Carrie on (01242) 532936 to make an appointment. Alternatively, email: adonough@glos.ac.uk or cthomas@glos.ac.uk to make an appointment. In addition, the Disability Advisers run regular drop in sessions at the Park, Pittville and Oxstalls campuses. If you have difficulty using University transport, meetings can be arranged on all campuses.

Personal Tutor

You’ll be allocated your own personal tutor as part of a small academic group in your first year. This group gives you an immediate network of fellow students to chat and interact with, in group-related activities. Your tutor is no hand to provide academic support and personal advice.

Academic Support

Tutor on all the undergraduate course at The Park are keen to ensure your student experience is a good one, academically and personally. You will find them ready to meet with you and help you in your studies. With the other specialised support available, we try to ensure that students feel assisted in reaching their goals.

We also can offer a number of arrangements to assist with module assessment, including extra time in examinations and the use of a scribe or word processor. Please contact the Disability Advisers for alternative exam and assessment arrangements. Code of Practice on the Assessment of Disabled Students.

Individual needs differ and the University tries to respond to student requests wherever possible. As well as your Level I Personal Tutor, Student Advisers are based on all sites to assist you with your queries.
