Welcome to the Park Unique Environment The Business School would like to welcome you to the Park, 24 acres of tranquil and spacious parkland where we offer an extensive range of programmes. Our programmes are delivered in award winning contemporary buildings and listed villas; blended with our location, this provides you with a combination of features not found elsewhere. We believe we can offer you a unique place in which to study, relax and develop where you’ll never feel overcrowded. The University of Gloucestershire has four campuses, three of which are located in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester. 3,200 students from over 40 countries; 120 academic and 30 professional staff; The Business School is one of the largest in the region. The Business School is heir to a tradition of education for the world of work that began in 1834. The subjects we now offer are: business information technology; computing; database systems; information technology; interactive games design; internet systems development; multimedia; network computing and specialist multimedia courses for non-native speakers of English. This is to say nothing about our courses in business and management, law, hospitality, leisure and tourism. For further details on these courses, please contact admissions@glos.ac.uk or telephone +44(0)1242 532 825 Nearly all our courses include valuable business placement opportunities throughout the UK and around the world. We encourage our students to take advantage of this opportunity – because it pays them to do so. Research by our own student (Danaher, 2004) shows that on average you are likely to earn £3,000 more upon graduation if you have completed a work placement. Our students have achieved national recognition for their placement work – two of them recently scooped first prize in national competitions. Part-time Study Options All of the courses mentioned in this brochure are available to study on a full-time basis; many are also available through part-time study. For details on how to apply, read the how to apply section. Our Belief The Business School is dedicated to helping you to develop and grow. We support and advise undergraduate students in selecting from a wide variety of study options, so that you make the right decisions for you. We aim to prepare you to contribute effectively to employment and to your communities more generally. Following an undergraduate programme will be only a further step in life-long learning: we’re determined to help you make it an effective one. An All-round Experience Though we focus an vocational relevance and solid graduate opportunities, other aspects of student life are not neglected. In this website, we have tried to paint a picture of life at The Park
in many of its aspects. Volunteering, sporting activities organised
by the University or by its Students’ Union, social and leisure
activities are all mentioned. If there’s anything of particular
interest of concern to you that you can’t find, please let us
