Computing Studies for Non-Native English Speakers

In global economy, more and more people are called upon to work cross – culturally. This creates a need for individuals who can communicate effectively in English the international language of business. This programme enables you to achieve this.

You should be a student who does not live in an English speaking country and who has another language as their first language. You will need an IELTS Level 5.5 or equivalent.

This three year single honors degree programme allows you to perfect your English language capabilities whilst developing skills and knowledge in computing. Alongside your Business English modules, you study computing to create a programme tailored to your needs, with modules such as programming fundamentals, software design, network and databases. You will study alongside British students in computing. There are other related degree programmes (some full time, some sandwich) in the area, allowing the flexibility to change, should your English language skills prove to be sufficiently well developed by the end of level 1.

If you have technical skills in computing, and want to develop further, this programme could be for you. You have the opportunity to develop your business and technical English – language knowledge. When you graduate, you’ll be in a good position to obtain posts in computing and information technology with multinational corporations, non government organizations and international bodies.
